Teaching

As an educator, my classrooms are spaces in which students develop the confidence to express uncertainty, wrestle with ambiguity, and build meaning together through dialogue, literary and cultural analysis, and digital humanities approaches. My teaching creates opportunities for students to see themselves as my intellectual peers and as contributors to their own development and collaborative knowledge.

“My experience in this course was amazing. My writing skills improved immensely along with literary analysis. I feel more confident in developing ideas and arguments with support from the text.” —Student enrolled in Introduction to Latina/o/x Literature, Winter 2026

“I had a very positive experience with this class overall. I went in having little to no experience or knowledge with Latinx writers/literature, and this class greatly expanded my knowledge of the subject. Professor Molina was incredibly helpful and kind throughout the entirety of class. What worked well was knowing this was a class designed to help me expand my knowledge. Many other people in the class shared my minimal knowledge of the subject, and the classroom easily became a space free of judgment. I shared great discussions with my fellow classmates over the course of the semester.”

“I loved this class. I’ve always been a bookworm, so I loved reading these amazing books. As someone who’s not Latina, it was fascinating to learn about the different histories and cultures in Latin America. The discussions were also great because everyone was very respectful and open to talking about the themes of the novels. Overall, it was a great class with an equally amazing professor.”

“It was a very new topic for me, but my understanding has significantly increased, and I am very interested in it now. The readings, videos, digital projects, archives, etc. were very helpful, and class discussions were essential in furthering my analysis of them.”
